Teach Nurture Guide Enrich Energize Raise
It takes a community to energize a child.
Move every day

Studies into children' health show that large numbers of young children spend 30 to 40 hours a week watching television, playing computer games or just being inactive.

What can parents and community do to change this?

Some ideas are:

    1. Be a role model. Get outside and move!
    2. Encourage activity.
    3. Join child/parent playgroups.
    4. Involve children in child-oriented activities.
    5. Ensure team sports are fun for your child.
    6. Provide short bursts of high-energy exercises.
    7. Encourage a wide variety of activities.
    8. Coach children's sports.
    9. Set up a hiking club for young children.
