Call Kamloops Early Language and Literacy Initiative (KELLI) (554-3134) Mother Goose is based on the idea that playful, imaginative language should be an important part of a child’s life from infancy and beyond. All Mother Goose programs are free! What Happens at Mother Goose? · Small groups meet for about an hour once a week in a friendly relaxed place. · Facilitators lead parents with their children in songs, rhymes and finger plays · Snack time lets you get to know other parents and children in your community · Programs last for up to 10 weeks. What are the Benefits?Parents· See how using rhymes and song can affect how their children behave and learn. · Learn new ways of dealing with cranky, fussy, and sleepy times. · Gain confidence as parents. Children· Improve language and other pre-literacy skills. · Gain self esteem and confidence. · Develop social skills.
