How Does Family Services Work?

Often, these parents point at the children and blame them for their misbehavior. The parents feel their children aren’t listening and are defiant. Recently, mental health is becoming more prevalent in these issues as well.
Conversation and Collaboration
Wayne Tresierra works at Interior Community Services and is the facilitator of Roots of Empathy and Caring Dads. Through conversation and collaborations with other parties, Wayne will help families resolve their problems. Wayne learns about each family on an individual basis, identifies the reoccurring issues, and then finds proactive ways to resolve the problem.
Understanding How Another Person Feels
Wayne Tresierra works at Interior Community Services and is the facilitator of Roots of Empathy and Caring Dads. Empathy is the ability to understand how another person feels. In this video, Wayne explains how babies show signs of empathy. He has witnessed examples of babies showing signs of empathy towards other children.
What Is Caring Dads Program?
Wayne Tresierra works at Interior Community Services and is the facilitator of Roots of Empathy and Caring Dads. Caring Dads is a program that is designed for abusive and/or violent men that are abusive towards their partner and/or children. There are many supportive programs designed for the victims of violence, but there are not many programs available for the abuser.
Life Is Not a Problem to Be Solved
Wayne Tresierra works at Interior Community Services and is the facilitator of Roots of Empathy and Caring Dads. Life is not a problem waiting to be solved—it’s a journey to be experienced. In this video, Wayne explains that children add to the journey of life. Wayne believes that children are our greatest teachers. Often times parents teach their children what to think, not how to think.
Medication Isn't Always the Answer
Wayne Tresierra works at Interior Community Services and is the facilitator of Roots of Empathy and Caring Dads. Medication isn’t always the answer. Wayne’s fear is that children will be over-diagnosed with mental health issues and then prescribed medication without exploring other potential causes.
