What is the Infant Development Program?
- For Children from birth to three years of age who are experiencing or are at risk for developmental delays
- Home based and family centered
- Funded by the Ministry for Children and Family Development
- Provided free of charge and completely confidential.
We are part of a province-wide program. To visit our provincial website, go to: www.idpofbc.ca
Important things to know:
- This program is free
- You decided what is most helpful to your family
- Families can join or leave the program at any time
- All visits are strictly confidential
- You do not need a professional referral; you may contact the program administrator yourself
We Provide:
- Confidential home visits for family support and to develop new activities
- Supervised play groups combined with parent chat group
- Access to videos, reading materials and toy lending
- Information on community resources
- Joint home visits with other professionals (e.g. physiotherapists)
- Assistance with transition to other community services (e.g. preschool)
- Respite service for some families on the program.
What are Infant Development Consultants?
- Professionals trained to assist you to teach your child in your home.
- Trained in infant and child development.
